Our products are sourced from fresh, wild harvested, hand picked, Northern White Cedar, Balsam Fir and Eastern Hemlock. We add only water for the distilling process. Nothing else. Cedar, Balsam and Hemlock, naturally.

Northern White Cedar

Cedar Naturals products are native to, and produced in, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (the UP.) To many, the scent of white cedar represents the essence of the UP. Our cedar products are distilled from wild, locally sourced, Northern White Cedar (thuja occidentalis.) Ingredients for each batch are hand picked and distilled in small batches, 100% pure, 100% naturally.

The Tree of Life

Also known as Arbor Vitae (tree of life) Northern White Cedar is a tree with important uses in traditional Ojibwe culture. Honored with the name Nookomis Giizhik (Grandmother Cedar), the tree is the subject of sacred legends and is considered a gift to humanity for its myriad uses, among them crafts, construction, and medicine. It is one of the four plants of the Ojibwe medicine wheel, associated with the north. The essential oil within the plant has been used for cleansers, disinfectants, hair preparations, insecticides, liniment, room sprays, and soft soaps. 

Northern White Cedar is distinctly different from other cedar species found in North America. Based on differences in chemical makeup, it has different applications and a distinctly different aroma. It is truly reminiscent of a stroll through the north woods.

Why Cedar Naturals?

Cedar Naturals was created to utilize our Northern White Cedar, Balsam Fir, and White and Black Spruce resources in a sustainable manner. We are fortunate to have access to a forest which we want to utilize, yet not diminish in ways typical of conventional forest management. It is our goal to obtain meaningful use of our forest through sharing the essence in our products. Our products provide you with scents as real and true as a walk in a northern forest.
